Current fishing report for Cedar Bluff Reservoir in Kansas:
Black Bass: Good. Bass are shallow, spawning in 2 to 6 feet of water in coves. Try soft plastics and swimbaits, especially in areas with hard bottom types and laydown timber.
Channel Catfish: Good. Use cut bait on rod and reel or set lines on large shallow flats and points.
Crappie: Fair. Some fish remain available in the shallows. Jigs under a bobber around laydown timber and brush work well.
Walleye: Fair/Good. Drift or cast jigs tipped with nightcrawlers, and use shad imitating swimbaits and crankbaits over main lake points.
White Bass/Wipers: Fair/Good. Troll crankbaits along stands of flooded timber on the main lake or mouths of major coves. Casting jigs off the dam at night is also effective for white bass. Some nice wipers have been caught casting shad imitating topwater baits and bucktail jigs.
Water Temperature: 68°F Surface Elevation: 2123.83 ft. above MSL (20.17 ft. below conservation pool)Note: Cedar Bluff Reservoir is an ANS designated water due to zebra mussels.
