Striped Bass: The fishing for striped bass has been a mix of ups and downs in local waters. However, the recent full moon seems to have brought in a nice slug of fresh fish. Smaller waves of lice-covered slot to over-slot fish have been actively chasing herring. Soft plastics in the four to seven-inch range, such as fluke or paddle tail patterns (like Slug-Go’s, Fin S Fish, and Gravity Paddle Tails), are working well this time of year. Some big bluefish have also made their presence felt in the area.
Fluke and Sea Bass: Early fluke and sea bass reports have been encouraging, with anglers pleasantly surprised by keepers of both species in 20-40 feet of water.
Remember to check local conditions and stay updated for the best fishing experience. Tight lines!
