Here’s what’s biting in the coastal waters of Alabama:

• Bull Reds: These large redfish are schooling around the passes.
• Red Snapper: Look for them around the rigs.
• Blue Fish and Bonita: You might find them under the birds.
• Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, and Kings: They have headed south for the winter.

Here’s the current fishing conditions for the coastal waters of Alabama:

• Inshore Temperature: 77°F
• Offshore Temperature: 74°F

• Blue Fish
• Red Fish

• Kings
• Cobia

Fishing Tips:

• If you’re chasing fish with teeth, consider using a short wire leader or a 60-100lb test mono leader.
• Look for surface action and position yourself upwind and current for a natural presentation.
• Along the beaches and jetties, keep an eye out for birds or schools of bait fish, which can indicate feeding fish.
• Bull Reds are schooling around the passes, and you might also find Blue Fish or Bonita under the birds.
